What can possibly go wrong?

Unfortunately, it may happen that your phone or tablet is stuck with that message or that the device is not recovered. In other words, all data or some data can disappear. So if you have a bad luck and your data is not (completely) saved, here are a few tips for solving the issue or preventing the issue to happen.

If your iPhone or iPad is stuck, you can try to restart it. On iPhone 6 and 6 plus, press the Home and the Power button. On iPhone 7 and 7 plus, press the power key and the volume down key at the same time. Hold it until the device is not restarted. On iPhone 8 and iPhone X, press and hold the power button.

Backup your data via iTunes or iCloud

If you regularly back up your data on iTunes or iCloud, the data loss won’t be a problem at all. In that case, you just need to recover data from iTunes backup file.

The process is very simple, tap on the Settings and then on iCloud. Now tap on Backup by doing so, the backup data will reappear. If you haven’t done it already, now it’s right time to do it- let iCloud backup data automatically.

If you want to backup with iTunes, connect your iPhone or iPad to your computer. Open the iTunes and click the Back Up Now. If you happen to lose your data, you can always click on the Restore Backup.

You didn’t backup on time and the data is lost

If you had a bad luck and after updating iOS, the message “ attempting data recovery ” appeared resulting in data loss, the first thing you can try is to restart your phone as we explained above. Restoring backup files doesn’t help if you didn’t set backup option previously.

In that case, you can try one of these data backup tools such as MiniTool and iMobie. These tools help you recover deleted files from your device. But there is one thing you need to know- data recovery tools cannot recover the lost data if new data overwrites them.

So, if this problem occurs don’t use the phone until the data is restored.
